Basant Lok at Night

Though I have been to the Basant Lok Shopping Complex at night many a times earlier, it was this time that something at the back of my head nudged me to write about the unseen complexity of the Priya Complex. The time I am talking about is around 10 pm when the night show ends and the late night show is about to start in the PVR Priya Cinema, and it is around this time that yesterday, that is Saturday, I noticed many people rambling around the area, some joining the lines to enter the pubs, many waiting impatiently outside the many Take-Away outlets, many doing window shopping, and others in general, just freakin' out.
I also saw many foreign entities among the Indian-crowd. It is my theory, that as Basant Lok is the only complex with the foreignish style, the foriegn people residing in Vasant Vihar visit it, and also, it was Saturday Night.
Though most of the shops close by 9:30 pm, the restraunts, fast-food junk huts, and the Neo Planet shop remain open off late, and if any body wishes to hang out in any one of 'em, you can do it late!

False Alarm...Again!

This happened to me last Saturday, and though I wasn't able to post then, I am posting it now.
PARENTAL ADVISORY : EXTREME HUMOUR (lol, I read the parental advisory thing on quite a lot of acd's and thought of splashing it on this blog, and ofcourse, you dont need a permission from the parents to read this)
And in case you are wondering abt the "again" thing, read the post under "A Good-Mornings Sleep Messed".

It was Saturday....2nd of April....3044....2005....
I reached the school at 8:30 am...and found it unusually quiet, and yes, that is very unusual.
As it was, my Generous teachers had decided to give away gyan on Maths and Physics and Computers in the extra-classes held in the after-the-exams-short-yet-enjoyable-but-not-when-you-have-extra-classes holidays. And as I had missed the one on 28th, I didn't know for sure when the next one was, so I called up a *student* in my class to know the date, and then the *student* told me it was 2/04/05.

So, there I was in the School, at 8:30 am, on 2/04, with the sick Gaurds at the gate, and an over-enthusiastic jaadu walla "cleaning" the driveway, making the dust particles take a trajectory to the nearest plant with a final velocity v.

I tread on and made myself comfortably out of the line of fire, and went up the stairs to the classes. It was still very quiet, and kinda deserted. The doors of the classrooms on my right were wide open and I glanced sideways into the first one, and saw teachers (not from my school) sitting at the desks, and for a wild moment I thought that they were being taught, but saw that they were checking some examination papers....board examination papers!

I walked on, and reached my class, and as I had suspected, it was empty...deserted...

I went down, back to the ground floor and to the receptionist, whom I asked what the hell was going on.

Her reply: All the school teachers are on a leave today, and the normal school will start from Monday.

Damn, I thought, False Alarm....had struck once again!
